Publications after conference presentations: A systematic review of published studies

Background and aims: Conferences provide an opportunity to present findings audience of experts in the field get feedback for putting research context. Since conference proceedings limited space presenting findings, publications are able a better platform wider reach, scrupulous peer evaluation, temporal consolidation medical scientific material. This review attempts collate studies which have evaluated abstract publication ratio presentations. Methods: The systematic meta-analysis included reviewed quantitatively reported rate Results: A total 28 were included, with sample sizes ranging from 82 1897 abstracts (total 17,172 abstracts). ranged 3.8% 78.0%, weighted mean 41.8% (95% confidence interval 34.1% 49.5%). Oral presentations had greater chance being published as compared poster (odds 2.693, 95% intervals 1.285 5.646). There was high degree heterogeneity findings. Conclusions: small proportion ispublished. Efforts should be made improve dissemination available research.
